USESI has come up with our first giving initiative pilot program, wherein we will be affiliating with the CT Department of Children and Families to promote the importance of education to disadvantaged families and children in the state. Our ultimate objective is to boost the confidence and self-esteem of these children so they can thrive in school. To accomplish this, we encouraged all employees to donate backpacks full of school supplies.
To start, a list of school supplies is provided so everyone can receive the same items equally. Every branch is encouraged to collect as many backpacks as they can, send it to Middletown headquarters, and then deliver it to the DCF in New Britain to be distributed to the children.
The project was limited only to Connecticut locations, but if successful, USESI has plans to grow this into a company-wide venture that can help millions of families around the country in the future.
Now thanks to everyone’s efforts, the program became a huge success. Everyone donated willingly, and the final backpack count has accumulated to a total of 222 backpacks full of school supplies, which were all donated to the DCF and has been positively received by the children in August 21, 2018.
